after the Official Barrier Draw for the USD150,000 DSH Caribbean Star Limited Pitons Cup (1800m) was held today.

The feature, sponsored by the Pearl of the Caribbean’s master developer DSH Caribbean Star Limited, received an exceptional response and is bringing together racing leaders from across North America, the Caribbean and Australasia including Stephan Narinesingh et al; Dan Schafer; WinStar Farm; Taylor Made Farm and partners; Wilfred Acham & Merlin Samlalsingh; Todd Pletcher, Elite Sales & Sol Kumin’s Madaket Stables; Newgate Farm, Freedman Brothers Trainings & Telluride Agency; Fasig-Tipton Sales & Bluewater Sales; Rockingham Ranch & David Bernsen, LLC; and Three Diamonds Farm & Queen Lily Stable.

“The DSH Caribbean Star Limited Pitons Cup is bringing the world to Saint Lucia and in turn, promoting Saint Lucia to the world,” said Eden Harrington, Executive Director of the Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club. “Flights to Saint Lucia are fully booked. Hotels island wide are full or filling up. The impact is real and significant. In a few days time, international guests and media will be descending on Saint Lucia to take in all that this nation has to offer. We intend for them to return as messengers promoting the virtues of Saint Lucians and Saint Lucia.

“Importantly, we are continuing to promote local participation and we are reserving one horse for the $20,000 Keeneland National Day Sprint and one horse for the $40,000 UK Tote Winston Trim Memorial Trophy for local horsemen and local owners to be ‘owners for the day’. Be an owner for a day among a group of 10 for as little as USD1,000 each.”

The 2019 CECF The Pitons Cup has drawn widespread local and international support from partners and sponsors including DSH Caribbean Star Limited, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, UK Tote, Keeneland, Coolmore, International Racehorse Transportation (IRT), Digicel, Inglis, Magic Millions, OBS Sales, Muirfield Insurance, Bluewater Sales, Goffs, Arqana, Fasig Tipton, Caribbean Awnings, Crystal Clear Water (Official Drinking Water) and Peters and Company (Sponsor of the Miss Elegance Award). Additional support for the Winston Trim Training Programme has come from Sledmere Stud, New Zealand Bloodstock, Sedgwick Equine Veterinary Services and Michael Clements Racing Stables.
