The Ministry of Infrastructure has reassured motorists and commuters traversing the Morne Du Don road that it is looking into having a troubling issue dealt with.
Last week officials were bombarded with complaints from irate bus drivers who are concerned about BRC (steel reinforced fabric) jutting out of the road.
The ministry, upon investigation, made it clear that the work was not sanctioned or completed by the government department.
Minister for Infrastructure Phillip J Pierre said it is a major concern that many of these works were also of sub-standard quality. He said resources have in effect been wasted and more funds must be allocated to fix the problems caused by poor quality or unprofessional work.
Pierre further stated that his ministry has put in place measures to ensure that infrastructural works are done to the highest standard.
Meanwhile, the ministry said as it relates to the concrete section of the Morne Du Don road, it has sourced the material to complete the repairs and is in the process of finalizing the estimates for the project.
