Executive Director of the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF) Joachim Henry is the ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party’s candidate for Castries South East in the next general election.

This was announced by Prime Minister and Leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), Dr. Kenny Anthony, at the party’s Annual Conference of Delegates in Vieux Fort on Sunday.

Henry will seek to unseat incumbent Guy Joseph whom Dr. Anthony declared on Sunday, had won in the last general elections by fewer votes than spoiled ballots.

“The days of Guy Joseph are numbered. His days are coming to an end and this Labour Party will spare no effort to remove him from office,” the SLP leader said.

Henry will take leave from the SSDF this week to officially kick off his campaign and will leave the agency for good once his leave has ended, Dr. Anthony also announced.

  1. St.Lucians will be stupid to vote SLP back in office. This current regime has brought about nothing but hardships to St.lucia. The record speaks for itself. I can't believe that there are still people who support the Labor Party.

  2. Kenny, charity begins at home. You cannot talk about the days of Guy Joseph without talking about yourself, because your days are also numbered

  3. This guy is dead on arrival, Guy will chew him up with that country-booky accent of his.
Now tell me, what insult to the intelligence of the Country to match one country
booky against another, is it just to win a seat? that wont happen. Looks like Kenny is
digging down the bottom of the barrel to find the appropriate persons to run.
Desperation is one thing, but it's more like chickens coming home to rouse. What goes
round, comes around. It's pay back time now. Are we going to have a Parliament run
by a bunch of 1/2 azz bookies? come on man, where are all the smartass guys we
have in St.Lucia? don't tell me they are all jumping ship so soon, AWA wee.

  6. Kenny Anthony is a joke. He speaks like he is running the WWF not a country. I heard this announcement on the radio and he sounded like Vince Mcmahon introducing a professional wrestler. He did not sound like he was introducing a serious candidate for a seat. Oh yeah can someone tell Kenny to stop yelling at his speeches, it sounds ridiculous . SMH....what a joker.

  7. I wouldn't mind at all for Henery to win that seat just for Jool Caca to shut his mouth once and for all.

  8. Guy is indeed finished.
If the UWP had a leader who could connect with Lucians then he might have a chance.
With Chastanet as the 'face' of the UWP they are not an option for the majority.
Two polls now show the SLP winning 12 to 15 seats!
