A young man is now being treated at St. Jude’s Hospital for stab wound/s following an altercation in La Ressource, Vieux Fort Saturday night, June 1, 2013.

Reports are that 19-year-old Ashley Octave aka Bolocky of Pierrot, Vieux Fort sustained a serious wound to his stomach.

An eyewitness told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) that the victim’s intestines were exposed as a result of the nasty slash.

The incident reportedly occurred in the vicinity of the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School (VFCSS) shortly after the end of the Miss VFCSS Campus B pageant.

The motive for the stabbing is not clear but another eyewitness told SNO that the incident could have been prevented had the police intervened sooner.

“I personally saw when the fight started. At that same time a police van was passing. I asked him to stop because there was a fight going on. He slowed down by the fight but never stopped. There were three police officers on the van. Yeah, if only he stopped when I asked this young man wouldn’t have gotten hurt. I left when the injured guy’s friends went chasing after the person who stabbed him,” the eyewitness alleged.

  2. concerned parent... get with the new technology, that's what spell check is designed for. The best lawyers and doctors can't spell... are you suggesting that they can't speak standard english? In keeping with your rational we should continue counting on our fingers man, burn the calculators!

  3. We lack focus and objectivity. We are missing the issue. Our young people are becoming statistics and all we can do is point fingers at who didn't do. But what did we do and what are we doing?
    The saga continues.....
God bless Saint Lucia and our people

    • You are right, we should be objective. I do believe that the crime situation in St.Lucia goes way beyond the police, but I also believe that it is high time that the police are not so much a part of the problem. We need to be able to count on the police to SERVE and PROTECT, and not be afraid that we will be victims even at their hands.

I Love St.Lucia and our ppl...but we need CHANGE and it starts with the ppl. WE HAVE A VOICE AND WE NEED TO START USING IT!!

  5. So now we blame de police for not stopping... The issue here is that these guys are too unruly, no one can talk to them. When the police deal with them with force we blame de police when they don't act we blame them.. It's a sad state of affairs in St Lucia and by extension the world.. Police cannot stop them, only the Grace of God.. Call on him while he may be found... get well soon youngster

    • IT IS TRUE THAT ONLY GOD CAN SAVE THEM, HOW EVER A POLICE OFFICER'S DUTY IS TO PROTECT AND SERVE. IT IS THEIR MORAL OBLIGATION REGARDLESS OF WHERE THE BLAME WILL LIE. ELSE IT WOULD MAKE NO SENSE TO HAVE A POLICE FORCE OR POLICE OFFICERS.

      • It is not their moral obligation but their legal duty to serve. It it is left to moral duty then almost everyone will be in jail or prison!

  6. Police could call for back up anytime. If we cannot depend on the police in times like these then who will help. The police cannot give up on the Pierrot boys. They cannot be allowed to run the town. Commissioner of police should do some thorough investigations into this matter. One suggestion to the gentleman who owns this site (forget his name) please include spell check or word suggestion as an app to this blog (just like bb and whattsap) Too many spelling errors sometimes!

    • learn to spell check and proof read....we're too dependent on computers, that's why we don't speak properly...we write what we speak.....let's choose to speak standard English and then the writing will flow

  7. Police have very little leadership, say what u want about police chief is best, how u determine a leader is how he leads his battalion, his men, police have no respect for the public, their job,and they leader, they dont get decepline,or even fired,i believe they just get the goverments money by false pretence, what a disgraceful,POLICE FORCE.

  8. If that is true about the police officers the commissioner should look into the matter and if the police on duty are Gould guilty then they should be disciplined and suspended without pay . As far as I know it is tax payers vehicle and only should be driven when in duty or patrol with that leaving the police station where they are from a constant update as where they are in case of emergency . But to that note does not give the youth of today the right to walk with knives . The perpetrator should be jailed for life . It's time we as lucians should take a stand . About the cocaine and the police , it is sad to say I agree on this , what a shameful and corrupt police force we have .

  11. These are the type of police officers we do not need on the police force. A little intervention on their part could have averted this incident. Shame on the officers involved!

    • Why should you lie. They were asked to intervene and they chose to drive away. They rather go in search of drugs and women. Thank God I have no blood of mine in this corrupt dirty force.
