Teen singer of St. Lucian descent reaches semis in Britain’s Got Talent

JASMINE-ELCOCK-666058EXPRESS (UK) – The hopeful, 14, brought Alesha Dixon to tears and received the Golden Buzzer from presenters Ant and Dec; automatically sending her through to the semi-finals later this month.

Her rendition of Cher’s Believe has already clocked a quarter of a million views on YouTube in just 12 hours, and now bookmakers have installed her as a clear frontrunner.

Betfred list the teenager as the 7/2 joint favourite, sharing the top position with last week’s Another Kind Of Blue.

Beau Dermott, who picked up Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer in the current series’ first episode, is in third on 11/2, with Kathleen Jenkins on 13/2.

Richard Jones (8/1), 100 Voices of Gospel (10/1) and Vox Fortis (12/1) are also well-backed, with dancer Balance, the Presentation School Choir and Trip Hazard and Lucy (all 16/1) close behind.

  1. Try as you may, Zak (above comment), you can't undo who or what you are. If your roots are Saint Lucian, then that's what you are—of Saint Lucian descent, just as most blacks in the Caribbean are of AFRICAN DESCENT!!!! Don't you ever look into history to have at least a sneak peek into yours and your ancestors' past? Sadly, your composition betrays your lack. Fourth generation British my eye! Come on, get a hold of yourself.

  2. Hello st Lucia
We are not Stlucians, have never been there and have no intentions of coming there.
Thus singer of at Lucian descent us like me, A fourth generation British, so why are the island claiming us, Jamaica don't do that, while every other British is some sort of Jamaican parentage
