(PRESS RELEASE) – Team St. Lucia performed marvelously at the recently held invitational tennis tournament in St. Kitts. A team of five athletes namely Maxx William student of the Corinth Secondary School, former finalist of the regional Coca Cola Junior Tennis Tournament; Arden Rosemond student of the St. Mary’s College; Iyana Paul student of the Balata Combined School; Iesha Emile and Randolph Rosemond went off from the 18th-22nd October to compete in the event.
Overall St. Lucia placed third with remarkable performance from Maxx William taking home the 18 & under championship. Iyana Paul and Iesha Emile were champions of the women’s open doubles while Arden Rosemond semifinalist in the boys 14 & under category. Randolph Rosemond also got a lot more experience as this is his first tournament out of St. Lucia. The team returned in high spirits as their performance game and performance was elevated.
The St. Lucia Tennis Association wishes to thank the St. Kitts & Nevis Tennis Association through their financial support and warm hospitality provided our players with the opportunity to compete regionally and get all the exposure they could. The event was a great success by all accounts and we look forward to continued friendship with SKNTA.
