(TRINIDAD GUARDIAN) — Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) arrested three people on Saturday night after they were found selling marijuana-infused brownies and cookies in Arima.
The three—one of whom is believed to be a teacher at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus—along with two students were held around 7.30 pm at Farfan Street.
Acting on information, the officers went to a named location and found the trio allegedly offering the items for sale to interested persons.
Following their arrest officers led by ASP Brandon John including Sgt Mascall; Cpl Gentle, WPC Caruth and PC Strachan carried out searches at the homes of the three and seized a quantity of items pertaining to the creation, packaging and distribution of the products.
The trio remained in custody on Saturday night and were being questioned up to yesterday.
They are expected to appear before an Arima magistrate this morning.
