Tai Chi class to tackle people needing to improve mental strength

A health and wellness workshop which will teach the public how to cultivate inner strength through Tai Chi will take place next month.

The St. Lucia China Friendship Association has partnered with Lotus Chi Garden and Sportivo Health & Fitness to host the June 29th activity at a cost of $60 per person.

Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practised for both its defense training and its health benefits.

Tai Chi promotes flexibility and balance and strengthens the cardiovascular system, skeletal system and nervous system. It can also help fight stress. 

Master C P Ong – a 20th generation disciple of Chen Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) will instruct the course at Sportivo Health & Fitness Rodney Bay from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This workshop objective is to promote the health and general wellbeing of persons who need to develop their mental focus and health to perform at a maximum level. Tai Chi has proven to be a great healer for countless people suffering from serious, acute and chronic diseases,” a press release from St. Lucia China Friendship Association stated.

The organisers say this is a good opportunity for especially athletes to improve mental strength.
