SYSC Club Road Relay continues Sunday

PRESS RELEASE – On Sunday April 10th, the Soufriere Youth and Sports Council held its first ever club road relay. The event started at 10:00 am. A total of eight clubs participated in the event.

The clubs were Jacques United, Black Panthers, Baron’s Drive, Challengers, Faith United, Rising Stars, Market Road and New D Knights. There were eight legs in the competition.

The categories were 1 male and 1 female 13 and under, 1 male and 1 female 19 and under and 4 persons from the senior category which is the age range 20-39.

The relay was keenly contested and all clubs put up a great fight but in the end, Jacques united emerged victorious with 96 points, followed by Black Panthers with 80 points, then Baron’s Drive with 72 points, followed by Challengers with 64 points, Faith United amassed 56 points, Rising Stars 40 points, followed by Market Road with 24 points and finally New D Knights with 8 points.

This event was the preliminary event which started the hype for the main event which will be held on Sunday 17th April at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.

This event will start off with a match pass from 9 a.m. All are invited to come out to support their club. Admission fee is only $5.00.
