Students among injured in Choc MVA

Three persons including two students were injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) at Choc, near St. James’s Club Morgan Bay Resort, on Friday, March 16, 2018, according to officials.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. and involved a minibus carrying Vieux Fort Secondary School students and a ‘pitbull’ taxi.

The patients have been identified as 17-year-old Claudette St. Rose of Desruisseaux, Micoud who sustained a possible broken left leg, 44-year-old Mervin Dalsan of Vieux Fort who sustained minor injuries, and 12-year-old Brian Stanislaus of La Pointe, Dennery, who sustained a possible broken left leg.

All three individuals were transported to hospital by ambulance in stable condition.

Castries and Gros Islet Fire Stations responded to the accident scene.
