The Saint Lucia Tennis Association is for the fourth time hosting the Annual Eastern Caribbean Tennis Championships, April 1-4 at the National Tennis Centre in Beausejour.

Teams from five territories will compete against Saint Lucia’s very best, including Antigua-Barbuda, Anguilla, St Vincent and the Grenadines, the US Virgin Islands and Barbados.

Featuring for Saint Lucia’s team will be the evergreen Vernon Lewis, the indefatigable former Sportsman of the Year riding an unbeaten streak on home turf.

This tournament includes junior boys and girls 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, and 18 and under, open men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The tournament director is Diana Stanislas, who will be working with new Tennis Centre manager Buzz Erlinger and administrator Scyla Murray for this eight-day Easter extravaganza.

The main sponsor is Cap Maison Resort and Spa. Co-sponsors include Computer World, Windward and Leeward Brewey, Grant Thornton and Digicel.

According to a release from SLTA Inc, the local tennis fraternity is “very excited about hosting this Easter event.”
