No Place is safe.2side a 2 a story,,,people dont just kill people for fun. There's serious things behind any crime. Many yrs back,a man always hitting my mother,i spoke to the man with good sense,i told him speak to her and pls dont put your hands on her.He agree with what i told him, couple months later he repeat that same old vibes.I decide to handle this matter on my own,i had the man in a neck-hole,he started Cuffing,he pee,he feel to his knees. The man could of die under my neck-hole,again i had no intention to kill him.He apologise, now the man change to be a better man.I defended my mother..What IF the man had die, everyone would be calling me a Devil.I not supporting fullish crime,,best advice to some is,try an walk away.

      • I agree with amazed. I believe you know what he meant.A place with lots of crime is not as sweet as those places who appreciate life. I also agree with you Sweets, if you feel comfortable living with it. I am sure you do not like it though.

We all singing St. Lucia we love but our behaviour shows otherwise. The killings, shooting and stabbing that are negatively affecting our country are what we report to the world. We behave like uncivilised people with jungle justic. How do we expect visitors to our shores when we cannot protect ourselves and our country?. We are digging not for gold but mesery and dispair. When the tourist fail to come and the green dollar is no more then the animal instinct will take over completely we will sing St. Lucia we hate.

  11. Choiseul assou square was cancelled due to the trough although there was no major flooding. The gov't should see that Castries Asou square was cancelled .Also there was this water crisis didn't Health authorities see it fit to cancel assou square.Too many unnecessary killings in this island at the time some districts are suffering. I hope that the vendors will give a contribution to those individuals who got affected.

  12. we use knives and sharp objects to kill people because guns are too mainstream and fist fights are out of style...i think this guys need medals...and knighted to...with the sword hitting their necks really hard...sometimes for petty things they fight

  13. I'm tired of all the overseas residents acting as if things are muh better where they are or that they're better than the rest of St. Lucians. There is crime everywhere! St Lucia is no worse off than many of the places you stay such as the Bronx and Queens boroughs in New york. So stop acting as if St. Lucia is a Shithole when just one section of NYC or LA or even Miami for that matter is exponentially worse off. The only difference is that St. Lucia standard of living is not up to par.
We don't even have a cocaine/meth/heroine problem and we most likely wont.

The gov't more interested in luking for laws to go against the police than trying to protect us looshans. i am sure the police presence dere was very low including last nite at Rbay. hardly a police in sight considering there is a big crowd and alcohol involved. SMH Y is La Cobinere getting paid???

  18. Just My Opinion. What do you think?
Vieux Fort cancelled Assou Square because of the Christmas Eve trough. I thought it was a good idea because I believe it would give time to reflect and to get our lives back together. I also believe that the little we had to spend at the assou square would be use to assist those affected by the trough. We are quick to cancel a national activity when there is a man made incident like a killing but tend to ignore everything when it a natural incident except when the natural incident prevents that activity from taking place like Tomas and the creole activity.
In my opinion all Assou Square should have been cancelled. This would help to allow us to reflect on the Christmas Eve natural disaster. The City Council and organizers of assou square could have requested or allow that a portion of the money intended to be spent at the event should be used to assist those in need.

    • I totally agree. Lucians need to come together to help one another - not go out and drink and party when there are so many suffering on the island. Many that were not affected just go merrily along not even thinking of those in need.

    • I could not agree with you more Kelba. It just shows the division in the country between North and South. Most of the damage was sustained in the South of the island so the haughty Northerners cannot and will not sympathize with those in the South. As the old saying goes Castries is St. Lucia. Assou Square should have been cancelled.
