St. Lucia’s Nyrone Winter impresses SportsMax officials at the Digicel Kickstart Academy

FB_IMG_1466618092264PRESS RELEASE – Digicel continues to have a major impact on the lives of young St. Lucians through its various programme geared at youth development and growth.

At the Digicel Kickstart Academy, currently on going in Kingston Jamaica, one of the three St. Lucian boys has been selected to appear on SportsMax live at 6:00 pm local time on Wednesday June 22nd, for the programme ‘In the Zone’.  Seventeen year old Nyrone Winter from the community of La Ressource Vieux Fort, was selected out of forty three boys from across the Caribbean spanning from Haiti in the north to El Salvador in the south to have the golden opportunity to share his football journey with the world. 
The Digicel Kickstart Clinic was hosted in St. Lucia from April 11-12th 2016 where thirty under 17 aspiring footballers from across St. Lucia got the chance to train with Manchester City coaches. At the end, three of the most outstanding were selected to move on to the regional Digicel Kickstart Academy in Kingston Jamaica for further training with the coaches. Jervel Tobierre, Nyrone Winter and Romario Lendor were the lucky three to have received this honour from St.Lucia.

The three young men departed St.Lucia on Saturday June 18th and ever since their arrival in Kingston have assiduously applied themselves during all sessions both on and off the field. To date, the boys have been exposed to extensive professional strategies to the game and ways to improve their skills and ability both physically and mentally.

Marketing and Communications Executive who accompanied the boys to Jamaica said; ‘St.Lucia is truly being well represented at the regional Digicel Kickstart Academy. The three young men have shown discipline, passion and determination during all sessions. They are very receptive of the information that the coaches are providing and are immersed in the expertise while positively accepting constructive criticism to help better their game. We are elated about Nyrone’s selection for this exclusive interview and appearance on SportsMax tonight. We encourage all St. Lucians to tune in as St. Lucia makes history in this capacity. ”

At the end of the Digicel Kickstart Academy twelve boys will be selected to move on to the Manchester City Football Academy in the United Kingdom.
