St. Lucia cops silver medal at Carifta Games

St. Lucia’s Marbeq Edgar has won the silver medal in the boys under-20 1500m final in 4 minutes, and 1.75 seconds at the Carifta Games, now underway in The Bahamas.

Mark London of Trinidad and Tobago won gold in 4:01.07. Jamaica’s Chadoye Dawson finished third in 4:04.14.

St Lucia’s Talberc Poleon finished a creditable fourth in the boys under-20 400m final in 47.45 seconds.

The event was won by Trinidad’s Machel Cedenio in 45.93. Jamaica’s Jovan Francis finished second in 46.01, followed by Bahamas’ Stephen Newbold in 46.01.

  1. Saint Lucian athletes did us proud, congtrats to Edgar and Scheper. Once again the sports administrators are a source of embarrassment, sending the children on the parade of nations with a crazy coloured flag. These people have no national pride...any flag will do
