St Lucian man arrested in cocaine bust in Jamaica

(JAMAICA OBSERVER) – Police have arrested a St Lucian following the seizure of one pound of cocaine at the Falmouth Pier in Trelawny yesterday.

The drug has an estimated street value of $625 million, police have said.

Reports are that about 4:30 pm, security checks were being conducted on passengers and crew returning to a cruise ship that was docked at the pier when the man was searched and illicit drugs allegedly found in his possession.

He was subsequently arrested.

His identity being withheld pending further investigations, the police disclosed.

  3. Poor judgement. Let's be real ! One would think that searches by US customs of people heading to US from foreign ports, are more rigorous when disembarking from certain ports.
