  4. If you're going to put St Lucia on the map then please do what other artists couldn't. Please find OUR SOUND. Come up with a tune or rhythm then blends like heaven with our dialect. All these years and Ninja Dan is the ONLY one to have come close or probably he has it.

  5. This woman was my real estate agent, thought she was jamaican actually. Never thought of her as a performer though, just saw her as different with interesting sense of fashion. Really nice for a young business woman. I must admit it is sad how many people seem to dislike her choices, I guess we all how our 'different sides' and 'alter egos' afterall.

  6. WE St Lucians have no idea as to what WE want. WE ask for more recognition for local talent, then talent gets exported unto the international (US/CAD/EUR) scene and WE applaud. Now you have another kind of artiste being exported to a country we have been promoting for years, and WE all are fighting the fact that it has no local flare. Then there is the situation with to local riddim from Dennery which all of WE are fighting because it is too local to represent us internationally!

How about just supporting the music we prefer and keeping our mouths shut when it's not constructive.

    • At what price to us. There are St. Lucian based producers she could have worked with, are we not aware of the price of conducting business with them and the things they do?

    • I am sorry but she is singing in a fake Jamaican accent. I get it, you want to make music however she could have used her real accent. There are way too many fake Jamaicans in St.Lucia and half of them have never been out of the island. Stop adopting other people's culture rather accept and appreciate your own.

        • Does Teddyson John or Shane Ross sound 100% lucian in any of their songs? How about Dupes - he sounds amost African on his 'international standard' hit! How about stacey charles who's first big hit sounded North American with a twist of European mix!

If you want an Authentic St Lucian accent, you need to go to Dennery or Saltibus. Everywhere else you will find that the accent is alot more refined or even accentuated in places it never was! An authentic St Lucian accent is heavy on the French lifts has a hint of Afican but slightly polished with English. As far as I am concerned, this artiste sounds St Lucian singing in Jamaican dialect!

          • If I didn't know the story beforehand it would take less than 5 secs for me to ask is this a Lucian? The Lucian accent is there even though she uses Jamaican slang.

Let's move higher to even bigger artists and ask them - does Nikki Minaj sound trini?

So what if she sounds Jamaican, I'm sure she will be proud to say in front of any audience in whatever accent that she is from St Lucia!!

  9. Couldn't she have made a St Lucian Album featuring Sessane Descastes?

I guess the atmosphere is not spoilt enough - by her standards!

    • Tell me about it. With all this copycat ,drugs and sex mentality; all that false hair and tattoo and gangster mentality what must I be happy about? There are enough of her kind to "big her up" moving on
