St. Lucia blanked Dominica 2-0 in the Windward Island Tournament at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau, Dominica.
A report on Dominica Vibes stated:
Playing in front their home crowd, the (Dominican) team came out looking confident and showed promise but was put on the back foot when St. Lucia converted their first goal in the opening minutes of the game.
The team continued to play with heart and had many opportunities to score a goal but failed to convert them.
A second goal from the St. Lucia team dealt a detrimental blow to the home team.
A powerful header found the back of the St. Lucian net and the crowd went in uproar, but disappointment soon followed as the goal was flagged offside.
Despite the loss of a St. Lucian player due to a red card, the home team still failed to take advantage of having an extra player.
A breath-taking shot from Carlvin Christopher ricochet off the cross bar and sighs of disappointment from the crowd echoed throughout the Stadium.
Earlier that day a match between St. Vincent and Grenada ended in a goalless draw.
The tournament continues on Friday, May 2 with Grenada taking on St. Lucia at 5 p.m. while Dominica will face St. Vincent at 7 p.m.
