St. Lucia set for Pan American swimming competition

PRESS RELEASE – Saint Lucia’s swim team to the Pan American Sports Festival left the island Tuesday and has arrived in Mexico City where the swimming competition is to be held between September 26 and 30.

The team comprises Laura  Bruce who will be competing in the women’s 50m Freestyle,100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke and 100m Backsroke; Mark Emanus who will swim in men’s 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, and 100m Backstroke; Anthony Francois lining up with Mark in the men’s 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke events; and Stefon Emmanuel competing in  the men’s 100m and 200m Breaststroke,  200m Individual Medley and 200m Freestyle.

Two coaches have accompanied the swimmers in Roosevelt Romain and Diane  Simkins-­Worrell.

Last month, Saint Lucia got gold and silver in women’s High Jump during the Athletics portion of the Pan Am Festival, through Levern Spencer and JEannelle Scheper.
