St. Lucia bagged a bronze medal on Saturday, the second day of competition at the 44th Carifta Games in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Ace Louis, a student of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, was the man to put St. Lucia on the medal podium, with his personal-best effort of 2.11m in the Under-20 boys high jump.
Louis improved on his previous best of 2.10m, recorded in his 18-and-over winning performance at Inter-Schools in St. Lucia.
Jamaica’s US-based Christoffe Bryan equalled the 1999 record of Raymond Higgs of The Bahamas, clearing 2.21m on his way to winning the Carifta competition. The Bahamas’ Laquarn Nairn, with 2.14m, finished second.
