St. Lucia hosts CDB meeting

On the heels of the conclusion of the 2013/2014 Budget Debate, Saint Lucia will host the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank Board of Governors.

Preliminary meetings will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 while the opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

Thereafter, the meetings of the Board of Governors will be chaired by Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. Kenny D. Anthony.

During the week-long meeting, governors will participate in seminars on “Public Sector Debt in the Caribbean: An Agenda for Reduction and Sustainability”, as well as “Financing Tertiary Education in the Caribbean”.

Discussions will ensue on international credit ratings and its implications for CDB’s strategic direction and a 2015-2019 strategic plan.

Leaders from around the region as well as officials from the Inter-American Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank and other partners are expected to be in attendance.

The meeting will end with a media conference on Thursday, May 23, 2013.
