CASTRIES, St. Lucia: -The Lucian Peoples Movement (LPM) had demanded clarification from the Kenny Anthony administration in St Lucia regarding the alleged “non-performance” of the consul general in Miami, Kent Hippolyte, for more than a decade.

“It is disheartening that the leader of our country can sympathize with its citizens regarding the sad state of our economy while allowing unproductive legislative representatives to continue to live lavishly at the expense of deteriorating national and regional economies,” the LPM said in a statement.

The leader of the LPM, Therold Prudent, pointed to the foreign policy section of the party’s 2011 manifesto (http://lpmstlucia.com/strengthening-foreign-policy.html), which clearly and transparently described a system of accountability that the LPM would have implemented had the balance of power been in its favour in the last elections.

Prudent said that he fails to understand why Anthony has not put his personal pride aside by fully adopting a similar policy to that of the LPM, to increase the functions and responsibilities of international legislators such as ambassadors and other diplomatic personnel, who should be required to report, on a quarterly or semi-annual basis, the results of their work to St Lucians as tax revenues continue to fully fund their professional functions.

“The days when the government and the people of St Lucia supported political operatives abroad who saw their appointments as luxurious cushions on which to relax and smooch with foreign diplomats who, after the night was over, could not remember their names must come to an end. St Lucians can no longer afford to tolerate the actions of governments who appoint persons who do not fully understand that our brand of diplomacy entails a vigorous strategy to market St Lucia abroad and thereby attract potential investors who are capable of creating jobs and opportunities for the people,” Prudent said.

According to Prudent, a better-served St Lucia requires transparent, and a series of serious steps to make things right for the people.

“It leaves the St Lucian masses to wonder whether Kenny’s objective for our country is a response to his upcoming departure from the political arena, providing a temporary, clouded fix with STEP, SMILE, etc. and, at the conclusion of his irresponsible mismanagement, leaving an exorbitant national debt to be dumped on his replacement while he sits in luxurious retirement,” he concluded.

  1. ANOTHER DREAM ANOTHER MISSION.The two Party horse-race and no in-betweeners .Sorry Therold Prudent the only advantage that I can see here is that you are yoguner than the other two Political Leaders so make the most of that.Speak too the People as if you've know them all your life ..and make them feel your every word.Don't feel the air with lots of jargon.Address the People with warmth and make them feel that you and your new Party is very caring and sincere.Don't attack the other Parties and their Policies. You and your Politicians are there for change and to offer new and refreshing insights into politics .not row row or boor ball.Do not use big words which will confuse your attendees and the most common remarks are .wee pappa!Don't make promises which may not be able too keep.Your Party should be representative of everyone regardless of their status in life.Your Party should seek too help the HOMELESS, THOSE SLEEPING ROUGH, SINGLE PARENTS, VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, DRUG ADDICTS , ALCOHOLICS, CHILDREN TRUANCY ect ..Your Party has to work hard for any chance of survival because you will have to be the best of the best for this is a very gullable nation. The Main Parties will fight your Party all the way but at the end of the day the performance will be down to you and your Politicians. So go out there and fight for your People and your beloved St Lucia and make Helen a safe and prosperous Land for all where equality, fairness and fortitude will prevail once again.Good Luck for 22nd of August.

  2. Let me first point out to you that I am NOT an African neither were my imtediame ancestors. Your views on the African subject belongs to the past and those of an ancient dinosaur.I will let you know that I belong to two islands of The beautiful Caribbean namely St Lucia and Haiti and I am extremely proud of that. My mum is Lucian and my dad Haitian and I have lived in both countries.I chose not to get involved with Haitian politics right now even though one of the presidential candidates invited me to assist him in his campaign in November. The situation in Haiti right now is dire and might I add volatile and due to this I am staying put in Europe.Stop blaming the whiteman for your problems. Africans were NOT victims like you are trying to portray here. They were just as guilty as the Europeans who colonised Caribbeans and other peoples of the world. Get your facts right before you attack me. That is so typical of people like you You are full of rhetoric and nothing else.I will end with this quote from distinguished Thomas Paine :A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right.Use you loaf and have a think about what Paine was saying back then. I still stand by every word that I wrote on here regarding the new party. They are nothing but a bunch of opportunists and collaborators.Haiti is in the situation it finds itself today because of people like you who will not let go of the past you know not about. Neither you nor I were present back in the 1600 s or 1700 s.Instead of banging on about the past why don't you furnish your little brain with something meaningful which you can use to take the island out of the doldrums? Somehow I doubt you are even capable of this.Good Riddance To Barmy Pan Africanists like you I am so Caribbean.Big Up St Lucia and Haiti as always.Lucian-Haitian ComradeMalcolm L'overtureParis, France

We are planning a big hearing on this matter soon I'll keep you all posted.
