PRESS RELEASE – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) has launched its annual travel agent incentive programme, Saint Lucia Agent Months (SLAM).
Designed to bring travel agents to Saint Lucia, the promotion, which runs through November 15, 2014, includes booking incentives and special rates on accommodations, airport transfers, tours, and attractions. Additionally, American Airlines will offer travel partners 50 percent off airfares in June, October and November, and WestJet will offer a 70 percent discount on airfares for travel through December 16, 2014 (blackout dates apply).
Participating travel agents will experience the taste, sights and sounds of the island through diverse tours, varied land and sea excursions, authentic cuisine and a chance to explore the array hotels and resorts available during site inspections.
“Saint Lucia Agent Months deliver first-hand experiences to our valued travel agent partners,” explains Tracey Warner Arnold, deputy director of tourism for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board. “Product knowledge programmes play a key role in ultimately increasing arrivals to the island. Agents who have visited Saint Lucia are better equipped to deliver memorable experiences to their clients.”
Participating SLAM hotels include Anse Chastanet, Bay Gardens Resorts, BLU, The BodyHoliday, Calabash Cove Resort & Spa, Capella at Marigot Bay, Cleopatra Villas, Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa, Coco Palm, Cotton Bay Village, Fond Doux Holiday Plantation, Habitat Terrace, Harmony Suites, Jade Mountain, La Dauphine Estate, La Haut Plantation, Marigot Beach Club, Rendezvous, Royal by Rex, Smuggler’s Cove Resort and Spa, St. James’s Club Morgan Bay, St. Lucian by Rex, Stonefield Estate Resort, Sugar Beach – A Viceroy Resort, Villa Beach Cottages, and Windjammer Landing.

An annual 'clean-up and beautification project' at tourist destinations all across St.Lucia would be a much more sensible investment than bringing loads of travel agents to St.Lucia annually.
After all, a tourist returning to his country and telling his friends and neighbours about the wonderful vacation he had in St.Lucia is much better than a travel agent trying to sell someone a ticket to a destination.
So let us clean; let us scrub; let us paint; let us maintain our sidewalks; and the tourists will come. It is called 'word of mouth' advertising; the best form of advertising.
