St. Helen University awards second scholarship to St. Lucian student

St. Helen University (SHU), based in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, today announced that it has awarded a one-year full scholarship to Yasmine Eugene to join their MD inaugural class which starts on Jan 7, 2013.

SHU President, Oma Sewhdat, in making the announcement, said: “St. Helen is very happy to be able to offer Yasmine the opportunity to join the ‘class of Jan 2013. She brings great background to the class, especially given her past studies in medicine.”

Commenting on the university’s readiness, Sewhdat said: “We are on track to be ready for January with an exciting and innovative program at our Vieux Fort campus.”

Sewhdat restated that SHU is also offering a 50 percent tuition scholarship to all St. Lucian students, and a one-year 50 percent inaugural scholarship to all students currently enrolled in medical programs in St. Lucia and anywhere else in the Caribbean.

The SHU president invites potential students to visit the university’s website “to learn more about our programs and faculty, and submit an application”.
