Technical and clerical workers employed with St. Clair and Associates Inc will now receive trade union representation.

This development is as a result of a secret ballot poll taken among the workers which revealed that over 54 percent of the employees voted in favour of having their interest protected by the National Workers Union (NWU).

The exercise was conducted by the Ministry of Labour and a certificate of recognition has been granted to the NWU.

The NWU is making the necessary arrangements to meet with the company to establish a protocol that would be adhered to by the parties in the absence of concluding an industrial agreement.

A general meeting for workers will be held shortly to identify problem areas which need immediate attention.
