PRESS RELEASE – Projects and Operations Manager of the Soufriere Foundation, Dominic Alexander, says he is delighted with the performance of the community’s teenagers in the ongoing St. Lucia Football Association Under-18 Football Competition.

The Soufriere Under-18 Football Team made it to the Finals of the St. Lucia Football Association Under-18 Football Competition. Soufriere comes up against Gros Iset in the Finals of the competition at the Beausejour Grounds on Sunday 27, September.

According to Mr. Dominic Alexander, “This year has been a good year for sports in Soufriere with the district winning a number of competitions in both senior cricket and football, and the Under-15 Football Team being a first-place runner up.  Most recently the Under-18 Football Team have shown that they too are a force to reckon with, having performed exceedingly well in the preliminaries, quarter and semi-finals and ultimately making it to the Finals.”

He added, “We at the Soufriere Foundation are extremely proud of the team’s accomplishments to date and extend our congratulations, praise and support to the Soufriere Premier League administrators; the coach, Stephen Charles, and the players.”

“The performances of our men and boys at the different levels serve as an inspiration for the legions of Soufriere fans, and motivation for the many boys who would like to take up football as a past time or profession.  Notwithstanding, it also shows that the future of Soufriere Football is in the hands of capable administrators and technical staff,” he added.
