Soufriere Square Project recommences

(PRESS RELEASE) – Minister in the Ministry for Economic Development, Housing, Urban Renewal, Transport and Civil Aviation, Hon. Herod Stanislas, announced recently, that the redesign of the Soufriere Square Project is now complete.

The written notice stated that the intention for the redesign is to achieve a public space for the town of Soufriere which appeals to its users.

The notice read: “It will do so by incorporating within the design, the history, culture and narratives of Soufriere. The redesign of the Soufriere Town Square forms part of the wider re-generation and re-development of the Soufriere town, with the square acting as a main feature within this wider redevelopment.”

Construction work recommenced at the square on Dec. 19, 2017, while demolition and preparatory work for the new construction as per the re-design, is ongoing.

The minister thanked the public for its patience and understanding during the redesigning period, and added that he looks forward to the completion and opening of the project.
