A resort in St. Lucia has been featured as a “gay friendly” accommodation by a website for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered individuals.
La Haut Resort in Soufriere is featured on gayapolis.com which says “periodically we’ll feature one of our properties here to let our readers know about some great gay friendly places to stay”.
According to the website, “La Haut or Le Haut literally means “The Height” in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. This quiet, family-run guest house sits 770 feet above sea level on a hill overlooking the picturesque town of Soufriere”.
It says “La Haut offers spectacular views of the majestic twin peaks – The Pitons, the Sulphur Springs and the Caribbean Sea. The plantation is conveniently located a few minutes from many of Soufriere’s main attractions and pristine beaches”.
The website further states that the “main house rooms are refurbished Cocoa House which is spacious, bright and airy with private balconies and rocking chairs overlooking the Pitons, the natural and authentic vista and are nestled on 52 acres of lush tropical gardens. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette, a toaster, mini fridge, electric kettle, fresh fruits (seasonal), a luxurious King sized bed, ceiling fan and en-suite bathroom”.
Gayapolis, Inc. said it was founded in 2000 and provides Internet-based community services to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered individuals.
“Our mission is not only to provide the highest level of services to individual visitors, but also to serve as a resource to smaller gay and lesbian owned businesses, with lower advertising rates that are more affordable to small businesses as well as a variety of new business solutions currently in development,” it’s website states.
