NEW YORK – Headlining this year’s annual Project Education Breakfast for Education is Saint Lucian Soca artiste, Julius “Gozilay” Peter.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at the Saint Lucia House, located at 438 E 49th Street, between Church and Snyder Avenues in Brooklyn.
Known for his unrelenting love of the creole language, Gozilay has been captivating audiences at numerous Saint Lucian cultural and Independence events in the Diaspora since 2006, when he began his musical journey shortly after emigrating to New York City.
Gozilay has had a significant impact not only in New York and Saint Lucia, but also in the Caribbean, Canada, Texas, Florida, St. Croix, and Europe. His hits include “KouteManmanw,” “YoBwey,” “Pa Check Mwen,” “Something Salty,” “Cocoa Stick,” “F’eTwanbl’e,” “Taliban,” “Girl I Want You,” “Noel La Wevay,” “Weflechi,” and “PoteGwan Moon.”
Most recently, Gozilay headlined Saint Lucia’s 36th Anniversary Gala, an event hosted by Saint Lucia’s High Commission in London.
Project Education is a New York City-based non-profit focused on providing relief to underprivileged students and their families in Saint Lucia. Through the generosity of donors, Project Education has empowered over 1500 students in Saint Lucia by providing them with donated school supplies that their families would otherwise have difficulty purchasing.
