A 15-year-old St Mary’s College student is the winner of a brand new Samsung Galaxy y smartphone from LIME, after participating in a recent survey conducted on the company’s Facebook page.

The contest required customers to visit any LIME retail outlet and then go to the LIME Saint Lucia Facebook page within 24 hours to complete the survey.

“I actually went into the store to check on my BlackBerry plan,” explains Kyle Cyril, whose Christmas vacation is getting started in the best way possible.

Kyle goes on to say, however, that the new Android-powered handset is a bittersweet gift for him.

“Just a couple of days after I visited the LIME store, someone stole my BlackBerry,” he tells us. His mother, Tressa Joseph, recently bought a Galaxy Y herself, so she says she knows he is getting a great gift. “Obviously, he was very upset when he was robbed,” she says. “But you know how children are, he started playing with mine, and he’s the one I go to when I need to do anything on it, so I’m really happy for him. I didn’t even know he had entered until Joanna from LIME called and told me he was a winner!”

Joanna Marius, the head of Customer Experience at LIME Saint Lucia and the business unit’s SHiNE Ambassador, presented Kyle with the phone, along with his mother.

“I’m really happy with the response we got to our survey,” opines Joanna. “We are doing some really fun and exciting things with our Facebook page, including giving prepaid users the ability to TopUp their phones right on the page, which is the ultimate in convenience. We will also be empowering customers to raise queries concerning their various services with a few mouse clicks, so we are really thrilled with these new developments.”

The survey was carried out in several territories where LIME operates, and Kyle’s entry won from hundreds of completed entries in Saint Lucia.
