SLP to hold “national public meeting” on Castries market steps

PRESS RELEASE – The St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) plans to hold a national public meeting on the Castries market steps on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

Thursday’s public meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm with a line-up of speakers made up primarily of government ministers who will report on the programmes and policies being pursued, including recent diplomatic decisions, for the further social and economic development of the country.

The public meeting comes as part of a series of “meet the people” activities which the SLP has been engaged in over the past several weeks.

Townhall meetings have been held in Vieux Fort North, Soufriere, Choiseul, Babonneau and Micoud South, while constituency conferences have been held in Gros Islet, Castries East, Castries South, Laborie, Castries North, Anse La Raye/Canaries and Vieux Fort South.

The Party’s “meet the people” series will continue until every constituency has been visited.

The SLP extends an invitation to all members of the public to Thursday’s public meeting, as the issues to be discussed will be of interest to all citizens.

  5. Petty brings it to us in true SLP spirit. Any one that disagrees with the Kenny Anthony band wagon is at fault or according to her "Markark". Lucky the rest of us see beyond colour and care enough about our county to challenge any administration regardless of political orientation. U can't save redeem everyone. So for the rest of us that think above party and political colours let us continue the fight for accountability, justice, peace and progress of our beloved st lucia.

  11. Why do we need to subject ourselves to Kenny and his band brain washing in the name of meet the people. If there are issues to be discussed of interest to all citizens here is an idea a press conference please! I for one am interested in the issues to be discussed but I won't be found on the market steps. That is foolishness! In order for me to get information on Government policies and issues affecting citizens I have to attend a political meeting. Helllloooo!

  13. Talk is cheap and has the tendency to drown the senses. Pretty soon the government will give people liquor to drink and drug them in an effort to numb their reasoning for the answer for the nation's emerging social and economic problems. Saint Lucians better wake up and smell the coffee that Kenny an Company prepared for us!!!
