SLP poses questions to Chastanet
Allen Chastanet

The Saint Lucia Labour Party noted that in his so-called address to the nation Allen Chastanet posed several questions to the SLP which the SLP did not shy away from answering.

The Saint Lucia Labour Party now invites Chastanet to emulate the Saint Lucia Labour Party and answer the following questions at his planned UWP Rally on Sunday.

Firstly, since he was a member of the Task Force which was established to implement Operation Restore Confidence, what was his role and what instructions did the Task Force give to the Commissioner of Police?

Further, why did he travel to the US Embassy in Barbados recently and what did he seek to tell or find out from officials of the Embassy?

Secondly, how soon will he pay to the Government of Saint Lucia:

(a) The $38,644.00 which was taken from the Soufriere Town Council to assist him in financing the Third World performance in Soufriere for his political benefit?

(b) The $525.00 which he also used from the Soufriere Town Council to pay a caterer for meals given to his UWP agents during a workshop organized by the UWP Constituency Group in preparation for the 2011 General Elections?

Thirdly, what was his role and how much was spent on the construction of the Deville Bridge in Soufriere, which to this day stands as a useless ‚Äúslab of concrete ” in the Deville river?

Fourthly, is it true that he said that placing boulders on a beach in the north to prevent locals from accessing a particular beach was justified?

The Saint Lucia Labour Party believes that it will also be an excellent opportunity to clarify where was he born and how many passports does he currently possess? More specifically, when he served as Minister of Tourism, which passports did he have in possession and which one did he use in his travels?

Knowing that the highest court in the OECS has ruled that Chastanet is a stranger to truth, the Saint Lucia Labour Party calls on Chastanet to please make an effort to answer these questions honestly.

  2. EDDY SANCHEZ,
You wrote " the kind of stupidity and ignorance we write are mind-blogging"(I assume you meant mind-boggling)and "where is our brain to think for ourselves"
Do you think that persons who ask relevant and pertinent questions with regards to the management of the affairs of St.lucia are stupid, ignorant and cannot think for themselves?
If you do,then then your thinking lacks logic.
You ask Chastenet to answer questions with regards to his tenure as tourism Minister and when persons ask kenny Anthony to answer questions about issues that are presently affecting them in a very negative way,you call their questions stupid and ignorant.
I find your reasoning profoundly twisted.
Why do you think that questioning the policies(failing policies)of Kenny Anthony constitute hatred for him?
If you think so,(to use your twisted and non-intelligent reasoning)then you hate Chastenet.
    Work on your reasoning ability.

  4. When are we going to learn, especially in this age of information and enlightenment. The kind of stupidity and ignorance we write are mind blogging.
Mr chastenet is now political leader and before he has to give an account of his steward as minister of tourism, the Soufriere matter and all other related issues that he is involve in.
Now where are the media and the good journalist who will probe into these and tell us the truth.
Also am wondering whether we are an ungrateful nation, and we rather bawl, complain, and blame each other, other than ourselves.
Why we develop this hatred towards the prime minister, Are we allowing the media and certain journalist to influence our decision and running to conclusion because someone says so.
Where is our Brain to think for ourselves especially in this modern and technological world.
I have gotten to understand that from 1997 we have grown quite considerably.
I can recall the almost thirty years of john Compton ruled, His leadership as well as many of the ministers who were with him stole millions, plus bleed the country resources. You all with sincere hearts and mind can look back.
How for decades cable and wireless was the sole provider, and many a people had to put locks on their phone because of outrageous price.
After the election of 1997 who brought and open the communication into st lucia where today every one has cell phone.
I can go on and on, but somehow I reserve the balance of my time.

    • Mr Sanchez,

Why do you keep referring to the past administration? they where voted out because the people lost confidence. Hence the reason SLP is here. Let me remind you it is our constitutional right to demand the governance we so desire. Do you really think it is constructive to spend time trying to slander a person than to work together as a nation to attempt to solve the myriad of problems confronting us. This petty ass non sense politics is utterly useless.

  7. The SLP/Kenny has never been clear on 'Roachmiel,' 'Qwen-berg,' ALBA etc. When you have such a poor record to run on, you have no choice but to resort to character assignation.

Anyway, Allen this is not just a government, this is Her Majesty's Government (and Kenny has perverted it), so get your bloody house in order...wash your dirty laundry, so you can bring some class back to Saint Lucia.
Long live the Queen of Saint Lucia, and Kenny, like it or not...She's you boss, you disrespectful man....and republicans can kiss my classy a** lol...

  9. I think when the rest of the world sit back and read the news coming out of St.Lucia, and see those comments or so call questions from the ruling government they would really need to question what is going on here. I am thankful that the SLP came in to provide some sort of apparent stability to the Country (I voted SLP!!!), however, why are they going back to these days of petty politics. Please stop playing red and yellow, let's think for the good of the country. We are currently crippled under the effects of the world economy and with the full impact on VAT, persons below the PA threshold are now subject to VAT, medication and healthcare is subject to VAT. Do you know that today, there is a "LONG" waiting list for dialysis patients at Victoria Hospital and the only way a dialysis patient could get on for treatment is when space becomes available?...do you know how space becomes available? when an existing patient DIES!!! in this day and age? This is inhumane!!! The other option is to head to Tapion Hospital and pay EC$525 per treatment 3 days a week!! How could the average St.Lucian pay over EC$6,300 every month to keep their love one alive, when the average salary is nowhere close to this!!!! This is where our focus should be!!!! Not on this "kiss me ass" two cents politics!!!!
$525 for to a caterer for meals? What the hell is that? Please stop dividing St.Lucians with this pettiness...let's work together for the better of the country.....Let's get some highly educated questions to ask Allen Chastanet!!

I now ask the current government what are we doing to attract Foreign Investments? What are we doing to develop and create jobs for our people? All the money we are now collecting in VAT what are the plans to develop the infrastructure of the country? What are we doing with Castries and the Castries Harbor? What can we do to accommodate cruise ship passengers to our shores, they do spend some money (look at St.Thomas and St.Maarten), What are we doing to move the country forward? After you answer those questions and also implement them, you may then have free time on hand to go after Chastanet with your 2cents questions!!!

  10. The only relevant question I found in all this rambling is if Chastnet took $ from the town counsel to fund his political campaign. If he did the current government should have the information and should haul him to court let him pay up. The rest of these questions pure BS. Let's get to the real problems we are facing. The $ kenny promised would be injected into the economy in the first year in office. The jobs, jobs, jobs and more jobs, all the false advertising that was his manifesto. Only today I found out Peter and Company laid off forty something workers. Of course u can't provide jobs no one can right now. Our unjust legal system. I think the SLP and the government has enough serious problems to attempt to slove rather than engage in the load of crap.

  11. Here it is that chastenet wants to challenged this government on issues he knows, those he is concealing and are just making noise, and my poor Lucian brothers and sisters are jumping and shouting by the song of chastenet, not understanding his real motives. It is said that if you have glass window don't throw stones.
The questions being posed to chastenet are valid, and legal Hr needs to answer these question and more as time goes by. It is fair game.

  12. Today is Friday(TGIF)Let us all lighten-up a bit.
I watched the Slp's PRO on CHOICE TV with what appeared to be a patch of red hair.I think she will blend very well with the yellow flabeau hair styles on Sunday should she attend the rally.I hope she goes .
You never know. She might actually learn something positive.

  14. I shall reconsider my support for the St.lucia Labour Party because, this is politics of the 60's. As an educated 22yr old st.lucian, I expect better from the SLP.

  15. a vote of no confidence should expressed by the people of the to demand clarity and start to build back our country
let the governor general select persons in the individual sectors to run it and revamp the public service, starting with the judicial system , making people accountable when it comes too handle the countries affairs

  16. the questions was directed to the government of St Lucia and not the Saint Lucia labour party. Also if i can recall Kenny use to make the same trips to Barbados and never made a statement about what his trips was about, so now that he is in the hot sit he wants answers! Dr Anthony am i right in saying that you were the one who alerted the U.S. about what's happening in our country and you helped in having Mr Fredrick's visa revoked, all for your own self gain. AM STILL WAITING FOR THE ANSWER ON THE ALBA MATTER.

  17. well allen we're waiting for you to respond, and only in st lucia do people think that a press release sent by a political party was written by the prime minister, smh, one day lucians will understand why the uwps want them to hate Kenny Anthony, like anything bad is Kenny Anthonys fault...........

  18. Poor politics Labour. It seems that you guys are just posing questions at Chastanet to prove that you are not intimidated by him. Your PR really let you down on this one.

  19. Enough already, I think both parties are taking this country for a ride. Why can't the SLP ask questions of Chastanet and by extension the UWP that would benefit SAint Lucia rather than these questions? Our country is in an economic crisis and we need ideas from both political parties on how we as a people can come together to get out of this conundrum. So I say again to both parties ENOUGH ALREADY.

  20. St. Lucian politics is a bunch of crap. Both the SLP and the UWP are putting this this island up to ridicule in the eyes of the world. Shame on both parties for poor governance of such a beautiful island. May god help this nation.

  21. Boo SLP do better than this slap stick gutter politics there are serious issues that the current government needs to deal with and equally serious questions that they have not answered, least of which is this current US, ALBA, VISA fiasco in the making. I agree a few of these questions to Chas are serious ones, but when you trivialize it with these other peurile questions then I call Bullcrap. You are the holder of the highest office in the land, act like it and do your DAMN job - oh and stop with the lies and smoke screens.
