SLP points out “untruths” from UWP leader
(Press release): The Saint Lucia Labour party marvels at the consistency with which Allen Chastanet provides evidence to support the view expressed by the OECS Court of appeal that he is a stranger to the truth.

Among the many inaccuracies presented by him during an interview on Helen 100 FM earlier today, he said that some judges have changed the constitution of Saint Lucia to allow the government to join the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

The SLP calls on Allen Chastanet to inform the public of exactly what clause or clauses in our constitution that have been amended by the judges he referred to.

The Saint Lucia Labour Party calls on Allen Chastanet to stop his continued disrespect for the court and to apologize to the judges whom he has brought into disrepute.

The SLP also takes the opportunity to warn Mr. Chastanet that all misinformation which were presented by him and his new executive in Vieux-Fort on Sunday will be exposed in the coming days.

  2. These damn ppl need to find real work to do. Are these ppl writing these press releases as unproductive and unintelligent as their press releases sound? Its like the politicians are stuck in the twilight zone while the rest of us come face to face with what is happening. Meanwhile they are busy quarreling with each other about bridges and any other irrelevant rubbish! Put a sock in it!! We want to know the plans to deal with rising unemployment, the escalating cost of living, businesses shutting down by the day, our inability to attract foreign investment and the list goes on and on and on.

  10. Will the St.lucia Labour Party government hold a referendum to decide whether ST.Lucia should join the CCJ?
Kenny ANTHONY has advanced one arguement against holding a referendum citing the cost of holding such.
If the cost is his only reason then he should accept the Lucian People Movement's suggestion which is to put the question on the ballot paper for the next elections.
If he does that then cost is no longer an issue and then there is the added bonus of mamimum participation.
Let democracy work as it should.

    • This is so true. LPM might be a small party but they have good and better ideas. I hope the people will eventually see that.

  11. Who are the progenitors of these so called press releases? These persons need to be more professional! For example in the last paragraph we read "The SLP also takes the opportunity to warn Mr. Chastanet". WARN?! Couldn't they have used some other word or words that would convey the same meaning without being so confrontational? MY WORD!!!
