This is the premier event of the SLNSA of their carnival programme for 2015. It is slated for Friday July 17th at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium (BCG) in Gros Islet from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
This activity is carried out in collaboration with the CPMA with support from the CBA, Soca/Calypsonians fraternity and sponsors.
The event is also supported by the National Steel Bands Association of Trinidad and Tobago, “Pan Trinbago”. This agency has traditionally assisted by provision of Trophies, Adjudicators and representational gestures to the SLNSA. Other than these donations, their Treasurer and the Assistant Secretary will represent Pan Trinbago in the SLNSA’s carnival programme/panorama for 2015.
Most of the preparatory arrangements for the event have already been finalized/confirmed by the PMC with its stakeholders, nonetheless the PMC is still constrained for resources, and is still reaching out to other collaborators and its supporters for donations and patronization of the show on Friday July 17th.
The Steel Bands confirmed to participate in the competition are in advanced stages of preparation with their songs and other logistics for participation at the show.
The general public is encouraged to show support for their bands/players (which mainly comprise youth, community and school members) during their rehearsal sessions and by attending the event.
The various media organizations are also urged to promote the activity and the artform through inclusions in their regular programming.
