(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – Game 1
Valley Soccer and New Generation earned a needed point to keep their hopes alive in making it to the final eight. In the first half Valley Soccer pressed for much of the first 15 minutes finally getting a break in the 18th minute of play with a well composed goal from #7 Jaheim Jassan ending the half 1-0 in favour of the orange boys.
Second saw a fight for survival by both teams with #11 Baggio Edward getting to slot home a penalty kick in the 30th minute after a goal keeping error saw the keeper bring down a player in the 6 yards box. Game ended 1-1.
Big Players went home with all three points against GMC United. This was a one-sided affair as the Big Players’s footballers above the cut against a timid GMC. Keanu Christoper (#10) opened with a goal for Big Players in the 2nd minute of play while Jhervon Clery added more salt to the wounds of GMC in the 9th minute of play.
GMC kept their composure after pressure from their coach Thai Fowell to end the half 2-0 down. Second half continued more of the same as first half with Big Players working extremely hard to get that third goal to seal with the game. This goal came in the 38th minute of play by #10 Keanu Christopher ending the game 3-0 in favour of Big Players.
B1 destroyed Monchy FC 12-0 in a one-sided affair as three hat tricks were scored with a goal by a second female in the tournament. First half ended 7-0 with goals from Joshua La Force in 5th, Donavan Phillip in the 16th and 20th, Keanu Felicien in the 12th and 21st and Rolando Joseph in the 7th minute. More goals were scored in the second half with three players completing their hat trick.
Donavan Phillip scored two more in the 31st and 41st minute, Keanu Felicien in the 33rd and Rolando Joseph in the 45th minute. Harmony Louisy (female) scored in the 40th minute of play to complete the 12-0 thriller.
Sunday 25th March
Flow Lancers won by default against Monchy FC as they did not show up.
FC Pioneers defeated New Generation 2-0. Goals from Nackim Joseph in the 60th and Marlon Nurse in the 44th minute of play.
Northern United defeated VSADC 2-0 with both goals coming from prolific striker Jahlil Evans in the 28th and 59th minute.
