May has been designated as Blindness Awareness Month in Saint Lucia.

A major focus this year will be resource mobilisation through the community. This is aimed at getting the populace involved in the business of eye care and blindness prevention.

To further this cause, the St. Lucia Blind Welfare Association (SLBWA) is partnering with the Spectrum International Calypso Tent for this calypso season to undertake “much needed” fund-raising activities.

This is also to support the blind and visually impaired SLBWA members participating in this year’s calypso competition.
