An event geared at promoting healthy living within the commercial sector and to scout for fresh new talent will start on November 1 and run through to the 30th at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility.
The SLBF said it believes that this is necessary to give the commercial sector an opportunity to showcase its talented employees in the sport of basketball, in an effort to develop the sport.
“Basketball is a sport for all and should be enjoyed by all ages both at the competitive and the fun level that the commercial league represents and makes available to us,” SLBF said in a statement.
The SLBF urges all interested companies to fill out the registration forms which can be found on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/slbfed or their website at www.stluciabasketball.com.
Registration deadline is next Tuesday.
“As we approach the holiday season we believe that it is important that we all make a concerted effort to assist those who are in need. We are therefore pleased to announce that the SLBF will be conducting a food and clothing drive during the tournament games and humbly encourage contributions from your respective business and individual employees,” the federation further said.
“We look forward to the support and participation of the commercial sector on this initiative and kindly ask that companies disseminate this communication to their employees and activities/social or sporting committees.”
