“As we have done in previous years, we have extended our operating hours to aid in the facilitation of clearing and collection of goods at the seaports. We would like to encourage customers to visit our website www.slaspa.com and download the Guidebook with step-by-step instructions on clearing goods. In addition, we would like to remind them that before they come to the port, that they ensure all of the necessary documents to clear goods have been received from their agent and walk with photo ID for example National ID card, passport or driver’s license and that children under 12 years of age will not be allowed on the port compound,” said Adrian Hilaire, director of Seaports.
Starting on December 19, 2013, customers can tune into the local radio and television stations for the port and boarding pass which will provide them with more tips when visiting the airports and seaports. Customers also have the option of contacting a broker to clear goods on their behalf or utilizing the broker available at the Port.
