(NEW YORK POST) – A Long Island man was collared for biting the eye out of his parents’ Shih Tzu in a gruesome attack, officials said Monday.
The 3-year-old pooch, Chloe, was rushed to an animal hospital with her right eye bitten out on Nov. 6 around 9 p.m., according to the Nassau County SPCA, which was notified by the veterinarian.
Detectives investigated and arrested 20-year-old Aaron Kluger, of Port Washington, on Saturday, the SPCA said. He was charged with torturing and injuring an animal, a class A misdemeanor.
Chloe underwent surgery to reattach her eye — and the vet is hopeful that with the proper care and treatment, her eye will be saved. She is back home with her owners, SPCA spokesman Gary Rogers said.
Kluger is due back in court on Dec. 27.
