The latest round of matches in the Shamfest 2K14 netball tournament, organised by the Shamrock Sports Club, was played on Saturday at the Vigie Multipurpose Sports Complex.

Four matches were concluded in a very competitive and combative spirit.

Egrets beat New Village in the opening game. The second fixture saw Ti Rocher triumphing over Bocage 21-8, Shakira John making nine of her 15 shots on goal for the victors. The third encounter, between Shamrock 2 and Eagles 2, featured the biggest score of the day, 52-32 in favour of the Sahrmrock second team. Jeanique Etienne scored 43 of her 55 attempts on goal for Shamrock 2.

In the final game of the night, after an impressive start from Eagles 1, the Shamrock senior team clawed their way on top, helped by the fact that the young Eagles had lost goal shoot Peaches Wilson to injury. Veteran goal attack Germaine Altifois-Fenelon scored 25 goals from 34 attempts as Shamrock completed the sweep of the Eagles, 47-36.

Shamfest semifinal action is set for Wednesday, Shamrock1 versus Shamrock2 at 5:45pm and Eagles1 against Sandals at 7:15pm.
