Serieux Jr. stars as Windwards win

(SNO) – Six of the seven Saint Lucians on the playing squad were involved in the final XI as the Windward Islands got their West Indies Under-17 campaign off to a winning start.

Windwards captain Simeon Gerson won the toss and decided to bat against Guyana at the National Cricket Centre.

Following a rain delay, Windwards batted briskly. They compiled 284 for 8 off 50 overs.

Leading the batting was Saint Lucia’s Garvin Serieux Jr with 122 runs. Teddy Bishop added 91 and Saint Lucia’s Lee Solomon 31.

In reply, Guyana were dismissed for 225, losing by 59 runs.

Three Saint Lucians shared all 10 wickets, Dominic Auguste and Ackeem Auguste with four apiece, and captain Gerson, the remaining two.
