Second round of National Youth Debating Competition takes place Saturday

The National Youth Council in collaboration with the National Lotteries Authority and the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is pleased to announce the second round of the annual National Youth Debating Competition in Saint Lucia.

After an exciting first round of keenly contested debates on the relationship between the LGBT community and the church, the following community teams were successful and will now move on to Round Two:

• Gros Islet
• Vieux Fort North
• Mabouya Valley
• Mon Repos
• Vieux Fort South
• Choiseul
• South Castries
• East Castries

The topic for this round is: “A diverse tourism product and prescribed fiscal cuts on expenditure are the two factors which can create economic and financial stability in St. Lucia”.

The debates will take place on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the following venues:

Members of the public are invited to attend and support the activities in their areas, as there will also be a segment for public opinions to be shared on the topic.
