SDA’s in St. Lucia to elect top church officials

PRESS RELEASE –
The Saint Lucia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, the governing body of Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Saint Lucia, will stage its Fourth Quadrennial Session at the L’Abayee SDA church from November 05-07, 2014.

The three-day Session begins on November 05, with registration of delegates and guests at 12:30 p.m. followed by the grand opening ceremony at 3:00 p.m.

The Session is called in compliance with the operating policies of the Mission, to receive reports from the Mission’s administrators, departmental directors and the auditors; elect departmental directors and the elective members of the Executive Committee (the highest decision making body of the SDA church in Saint Lucia) and approve plans and make recommendations for the next quadrennium.

In attendance will be SDA officials from the Inter American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, the Caribbean Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and Presidents of sister churches around the Caribbean. Saint Lucia’s Governor General, Dame Pearlette Louisy, is also expected to be in attendance. The Drum Corps and Drill Squad of the SDA Youth Department will perform at the opening ceremony.

Executive Secretary of the Saint Lucia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists Alexander Biscette, said, “The Session is significant as it comes at a time when the constituency needs to think of specific plans to help the Mission attain “Conference Status”. Unless the Mission achieves “Conference Status”, the Saint Lucia constituency is not allowed, by policy, to elect the top three officers of the church. It is also very important for the constituency to get it right when it comes to election of the departmental directors and the configuration of the Executive Committee. We need the right people in the right offices to help the administration take the Mission in a new direction.”

  1. Some people should just not comment on stuff they apparently know nothing about, its called organization people, every business, home, even the animal kingdom realizes its importance, and as for salvation by grace you are very correct my brother one is saved only by grace, but should we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. You keep the sabbath not to be saved but because you are saved.

    • It must be noted that the word "saved", as in "saved by grace" simply means "to be healed" and does not denote ultimate salvation. To be saved is to be saved or healed from your past sins. Then once your saved or healed spiritually, one must earn his own salvation via the building of righteous character via the help of The Holy Spirit to keep all His commandments, toward perfection. Remember what Our Savior said....Become Ye perfect, just as Our Father in Heaven is perfect. One can never earn his healing, but once healed, it is our responsibility to keep all His commandments under covenant toward perfection.

  2. The Question for all Churches is How can a man be saved? Is it by keeping the Sabbath,Law, Communion,Baptism???? Folks salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone through grace alone....You can add anything to that..whether SDA...Catholic, Baptist..Pentecostal....etc..etc..etc...

  3. There is no politics and fighting in this. It is a well organized process where the church selects persons at the helm to lead the organization in the various departments. God is a God of order and so we must be too. There is much prayer involved in the process as we allow God to guide the whole process.

  5. Are we for real? Why don't we pray for the church? We are living in the last days and the Church of God will go through a period of shaking. As we choose our leaders for the next 4 years I declare all SDA's fast until!!
