The first St Lucia Youth Conference will be held at the L’Abayee (Zion) SDA Church and will be centered on deep spiritual emphasis and Christian fellowship under the theme “Encountering Christ- Transforming Character”.
“At a time when much of the nation will be absorbed in other seasonal festivities, young Seventh Day Adventist Christians island wide will be choosing to pass the time at what has been dubbed the “spiritual event of the year simply too important to miss,” a press release states.
Pastors Andy Manzano of Trinidad, Brent St. Jean of St. Vincent, Johnson Frederick, Wulston Charles and Elder Danny Moonie will be on hand to present on various topics which include “Living and Knowing God’s Will for My Life; Biblical Living in a Complex World and the Cross of Christ.”
The event, which has roots in the US Generation Youth for Christ (GYC) initiative, is being organized by the St Lucia Mission of Seventh Day Adventists. It is hoped that the conference will also “inspire young people to be passionate about Jesus Christ, to serve Him wholeheartedly and to be transformed by His grace.”
Adventist youths interested in attending are encouraged to register through a St Lucia Youth Conference special camp provision at a cost of $30-$40 which will cover two or three meals for the four-day period. They will also have the opportunity to camp at neighboring facilities. Non- camping attendees will pay a registration fee of $7.
Registration forms can be obtained at http://www.slycweb.org/about/. When completed they should be forwarded to respective church leaders or the office of the St Lucia Mission of Seventh Day Adventists in La Clery, Castries for finalization.
