The Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport will commence important maintenance work to the Sans Soucis Bridge today, Nov. 3.
The project encompasses repairs to the existing expansion joints, the asphalt pavement approach to the bridge, the concrete pile cap and the bridge sidewalk.
The bridge will also undergo painting works and repairs on all areas of reinforced concrete abutment, which has experienced corrosion over the years.
Officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure expect traffic to continue as normal in the initial stages of the project, as most of the works will be undertaken under the bridge.
The general public will be notified of minimal disruption to traffic in the latter parts of the project, when works will be undertaken on the surface of the bridge.
These works are expected to occur at night.
The Sans Soucis Bridge Rehabilitation Project will be undertaken at a cost of EC$373,465.00. The project has been awarded to Construction and Industrial Equipment Limited (CIE). The project duration is 70 days.
