The Creole Heritage Club of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) will be staging a traditional kite-making workshop on Wednesday, February 20 from  10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the SALCC CEHI car park (B. Ed classroom).

Veteran kite maker Samuel McClean has been invited to demonstrate and share his expertise in this almost forgotten and abandoned tradition.

This activity is also in celebration of St. Lucia’s Independence anniversary as the students will be building kites in the colours of St. Lucia’s national flag for flying on Independence Day.

Those with a knowledge of this traditional art who would like to participate in this activity are kindly asked to contact Ms Lindy-Ann Alexander at 719-4938 or the college at 452-5507 Ext.7330
