(PRESS RELEASE) – The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College is offering young persons who did not qualify to its full-time programmes a second opportunity for education at the tertiary level.

Eligible individuals – persons with CSEC passes in various subjects – can enroll part-time into the CAPE programme through the Department of Continuing Education (DOCE). Students can register for ONE of the following subjects:

– English Literature
– Economics
– French
– Spanish
– History
– Geography
– Management of Business
– Mathematics
– Physics
– Communication Studies
– Caribbean Studies

The deadline for enrollment is Thursday, 14th September 2017. The courses are being offered by the Division of Arts, Science and General Studies in the regular day-time programme.

The College also made a similar offer to students who applied to the Division of Technical Education and Management Studies through a Bridging Programme. Students who did not meet the English or Mathematics requirement for acceptance into the full-time regular programmes in Hospitality, Business and Engineering were allowed to do an Access course in the failed course along with three other courses from the full-time programme.

Approximately 180 students have accepted offers into this programme with an opportunity to matriculate into the full-time programme in January 2018 once they succeed.

Sir Arthur Lewis Community College is working towards meeting the educational needs of the Saint Lucian society and invites the general public to take advantage of the programmes offered through the Department of Continuing Education.
