Wednesday, September 26, 2012 – Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny D. Anthony will lead Saint Lucia’s high level delegation to the 67th Session of the United Nations General Assembly which opened on Tuesday, September 25th in New York.
The delegation also consists of the Honourable Alva Baptiste, Minister for External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation, and Her Excellency Menissa Rambally Ambassador and Saint Lucia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
The Saint Lucia delegation joins the other one hundred and ninety-two UN member states, whose leaders will address the General Assembly this week.
While in New York, the Honourable Prime Minister will meet with inter alia, the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, as well as other world leaders.
Prime Minister Anthony is scheduled to make his formal address to the UN General Assembly on Friday September 28th
The Minister for External Affairs, Hon. Alva Baptiste will meet with other Foreign Ministers and engage in bilateral meetings.
Minister Baptiste will also represent Saint Lucia at the meetings of the CARICOM and Commonwealth Foreign Ministers.
This high level week provides government officials and diplomats from around the world the opportunity to hold important discussions and engage in dialogue on issues of common interest.
