Friday, September 28, 2012 – Peace in the Syrian Republic, the denouncing of the recent brutal murder of the US Ambassador to Libya and the call for cessation of ongoing turbulence in the Middle East were some of the issues highlighted in his address when Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Honourable Dr Kenny D Anthony addressed the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, September 28th, 2012 .
“Mr. President, Saint Lucia believes that all efforts to promote peace and prosperity for all while of course protecting the health of our planet should be embraced. The government of Saint Lucia is well aware of the determination of the Chinese people to unify their country, signal to the world with the taking by China of its rightful place in this august body the United Nations. In that context Saint Lucia welcome the emerging dialogue and cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and china on Taiwan.”
Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony told his audience of international leaders that although utopia is elusive, they must be more bold about the type of world that they want to create in the interest of their countries and as members of a global community.
