(PRESS RELEASE) — A team of four bodybuilding athletes along with two officials set off to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 to compete in the 46th Annual IFBB Central American and Caribbean Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Championships (CAC Championships).

The final team selection was made from the initial draft pick of the island’s best bodybuilding athletes.

The CAC team spent the past six weeks fine-tuning their physiques to bring a “total package” to Santo Domingo. With weekly check-ins conducted by the Saint Lucia Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (SLABBFA) Technical Committee, the athlete’s readiness was primarily based on the athlete’s body condition in addition to the athlete’s availability, ability to gain the necessary travel documents on time, and availability of funding.

This year’s team will be competing in the following categories: women’s body fitness, men’s bodybuilding, men’s classic bodybuilding, and men’s physique. The championships will run from October 11-14, 2019.

Look out for updates on SLABBFA social media pages (@slabbfa).

The St. Lucia Amateur Bodybuilding and Body Fitness Association would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters who contributed in making this endeavor possible for our athletes.

All the best Team Saint Lucia!
