Saint Lucian soca artist Black Boy to headline Independence 41 event in NYC

(PRESS RELEASE) – Dennery Segment star Kurd “Black Boy” Leonce will headline an Independence 41 event taking place in New York City, dubbed “Unity Fete.”

Unity Fete is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2020, starting at 10:00 PM, at Iyanola, 1130 East 92nd Street, in Brooklyn, New York.

Organized by Brandon Versatile and Frontrunners Entertainment, Unity Fete is one of a number of activities taking place in the Diaspora commemorating Saint Lucia’s forty-first anniversary of independence—giving Saint Lucians an opportunity to join together for a night of fun, while celebrating the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Brandon Joseph of Brandon Versatile Entertainment said he is proud to be associated with this uniquely Saint Lucian music celebration, stating that Saint Lucians have lots to be thankful for. “We have achieved a ton since independence and we have proven to be resilient,” Joseph said. “Why not dance the night away with our fellow Saint Lucians in the Diaspora?”

Joseph said he is delighted to collaborate with Black Boy, and offer him an opportunity to showcase his talents to overseas-based Saint Lucians and lovers of soca music.

Saint Lucians attending this event are encouraged to show up dressed in the colors of their nation’s flag.

Tickets for Unity Fete are available via, or at Glamorous Hair Salon, located at 415 Utica Avenue in Brooklyn New York.
